If all goes as planned, we should be on our way to Brownwood TX in March. Will be our first trip there. What kind of weather should we expect. What "must see's" are there close to Brownwood? Thanks...........Brad

Brad,

Here is the weather for the month of March 2005. This will give you a rough idea of what to expect. This is for Waco. You might be able to find a town closer to Brownwood.

Have a great trip.

Thanks for the Link Don. I'll print the info off and just see how acurate it is.
Brownwood isn't that big a place I guess. My nephew and his wife moved there in Sept.

You will like Brownwood and the weather. Brownwood as far as size goes, is the county seat of a predominately agricultural part of Texas. Population is about 19,000. It is a good example of what I call "True Texas". Full of country folk and your everyday rancher. Several good hometown style restraunts (be sure and try a "Ckicken Fried Steak" if you never had one). Nothing fancy or big city about Brownwood. Lots of stuff to see and do in the small towns within an hour or two from there. The Brown County Courthouse is beautiful. Dont be surprised if the weather is in the 80's most of the time and not lower than the 50's at night in March. A rare cold front can bring lower temps ( maybe a freeze) but those will only be for a couple of days if it happens. Winter is usually over by late February. Brownwood is almost in the geographic center of Texas. It is on US highway 377 and about three hours southwest of Fort Worth. We live three hours south of Brownwood and have been thru it numerous times. Speaking of winter, we have had over a week of the 80's and upper 70's. When a cold front comes in, it may get to 30 at night then back to 70 by afternoon. That is our current winter. Brownwood and all of Texas is in severe dry and fire danger at the present with numerous brush fires. That dry trend is expected to last another 60 days so Brownwood in March may be more brown than normal. Here are some links.......

the last link will send you a map and 264 page Texas travel guide for free

Warren and Debbie...I would love to be able to help you out. If I could snap my fingers and it would be done.. I'd do it. Maybe by then, you'll have had rain...hopefully.

Don't miss East Texas during March - the Piney Woods will be covered in azaleas, dogwood, gardenias, etc. Tyler has an Azalea Trail drive through that is gorgeous during the end of March. Come on over - you'll love it. It is only about an hour from where you'll be.
