Subject: Denzel Washington, and
Brooks Army Medical Center
Don't know whether you heard about this
but Denzel Washington and his family visited
the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in
San Antonio,Texas (BAMC) the other day. This
is where soldiers who have been evacuated from
Germany come to be hospitalized in the United
States, especially burn victims. There are some
buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher
House is a Hotel where soldiers' families can stay,
for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying
in the Hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses
on base, but as you can imagine, they are almost filled
most of the time.
While Denzel Washington was visiting BAMC, they gave
him a tour of one of the Fisher Houses. He asked how
much one of them would cost to build. He took his check
book out and wrote a check for the full amount right there
on the spot. The soldiers overseas were amazed to hear
this story and want to get the word out to the American
public, because it warmed their hearts to hear it.
The question I have is why does:
Alec Baldwin,
Madonna,
Sean Penn and
other Hollywood types
make front page news with their anti-everything
America trash and Denzel Washington's Patriotism
doesn't even make page 3 in the Metro section of
any newspaper except the Local newspaper in San
Antonio.
A true American and friend to all in uniform!
This needs as wide a distribution
as we can create.
GOD BLESS YOU DENZEL
FOR YOUR PATRIOTISM

You know, I have gotten to the point that when I read something like this I automatically go to SNOPES to see if it is the truth.
Go one today from my buddy who was bubbling about Lee Marvin, Bob Keeshan, and Fred Rogers. Only a small portion of the E-mail was close to being true.

is SNOPES fool proof ?
do we put our bottom-line trust in SNOPES ?
what I mean is, ... if a number of high powered CEO's of big companies that lately have gone to jail lately
" ... my accountants mislead me ... ",
or several President's have maybe gotten erroneous information from their trusted sources,
or major newpaper who had a big columnist who apparently made-up all of his "true-stories" and tricked the newspaper into believing him,
well, ....
is SNOPES for sure the bottom-line truth on every matter?
Isn't there even one time when SNOPES made a huge mistake?

Nobody is error proof. Snopes does research the things through numerous sources. They often tell you their research process, so you are more than welcome to go back and double check for yourself. A lot of the stuff is simple logic stuff though.
Like someone sent me "pictures of Katrina coming ashore in mississippi". I took one look of them and knew they were tornadoes and somewhere in the plains states. Sure enough, snopes said they were tornado photos taken in Nebraska and Kansas about 3-4 years ago by storm chasers.
Sometimes common sense can take you just as far as research.

Another actor who doesn't get any Press is Gary Sinise who stars in CSI-NY and played Officer Dan in the movie Forrest Gump, he entertains hospitalized Veterans in Military Hospitals and VA Hospitals plus tours with is band entertaining Troops who are stationed overseas and to top it off he donates most of the money people pay to see he and is band to the USO, I would have never known he did any of these things had I not read about them in the Navy Base newspaper in Pensacola, as for Denzel Washington if memory serves me rite he lost his oldest brother in Vietnam. Isn't it strange that the Killer Tookie Williams can get nominate for the Nobel Peace Prize and it makes the front page of most big newspapers but the above two gentlemen never are mentioned once for there great deeds.

Gary Sinise is only one of hundreds that have joined up with the USO for our troop entertainment overseas. I applaude him along with ALL the others you will find listed on the USO website. As far as I know and from experience, all USO shows for our troops overseas, especially in a war zone, are FREE.
As for the Killer Tookie Williams being nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize ...that is a true fact, however, being nominated and getting the same is TWO different stories. Most of us would laugh by knowing where his nimination came from.
