The Grammys: 2012

What was your favorite part of this year's Grammy's?

I loved Adele's performance, and love her too. She is so cute and seems very humble despite her fame. I also thought Jennifer Hudson's homage to Whitney Houston and her "I will always love you" performance was fabulous. Her pipes are about up there with Whitney's. I could tell she was fighting choking up on some of the verses. I couldn't have sung that song without balling. And knowing she pulled that off with only a day to prepare was even more impressive, since it was put in last minute.

I liked the Beach Boys performance, and Paul McCartney as well.

I enjoyed the show more than I have in the past.
Adele's Rolling in the Deep was absolutely great!
Was like a 60's song. Great hook.
What I didn't enjoy; guess I am getting old...were the newer rock acts.
They sucked! Nothing but a bunch of no talent noise IMHO. Foo what? And they won best rock act?
Beach Boys and McCartney were great as was Glen Campbell and their accompanying acts.
I was surprised to see Joe Walsh playing with McCartney.
I used to go see him as a teen at a dance club called Mentor Hullabaloo back in the late 60's with the James Gang.

Starting off with a prayer in tribute to Whitney and the song that was sung in her honor were my favorite parts.
I've always liked the Beach Boys and they are an ikon group but they still can't sing in harmony in person.
I thought Paul McCartney did a great job at the end as well.

I enjoyed the new acts, except for Nikki Minaj. Not a fan. I thought Rihanna was great. Cold Play was a bit boring, the Foo Fighters near the end I thought was really good ...

My favorite part of the evening was that my TV has a remote and I could avoid the Grammys.

X2. I do like music(all kinds), but I must be missing the 'adoration gene'...they all have enough dough that they don't need mine anyway. Bob

That's a good one "adoration gene", it seems the younger set are a little over the top with that.

I haven't got a clue as to what Nikki Minaj was trying to do. I have night mares that resemble her if I eat Wendy's Chili after 6:00.
I don't think the audience that was THERE figured her out either.
Cold Play was "Pitchy" through their entire set.
Like I said; I must be getting old.

I have never watched the Grimmys and do not care. They are in the same class as professional team sports, football, basketball, baseball. I do not support druggies and criminals, just my humble opinion.

I'm 70, and have never watched either. It's just a circus arena that those that want the exposure, and to be adored. It's candy to them.

I've never even asked for a autograph from anyone as I feel the school janitor is just as important as a celebrity of any kind.

You could have skipped this thread since you hate the grammy's to this large degree. LOL

I must admit too, that I do not watch any of the self gratification award shows. The Grammies, the Emmies, Academy Awards and any of the other similar shows do nothing for me.

Now gimme the WWF and watch me cheer. I love the part where the Grizzly Bears eat the save the world types.
