I would wish the watchers well because the car names are basically a joke being perpetrated on North American fans. Too bad as at one time it was truly stock car racing.

Bet she doesn't sleep tonight. Yes, NASCAR is the same roundy-round thing every race, but that doesn't stop me from watching. I go into withdraw during the off-season.

I have nothing against Danica, I too wish her well in the sport, I will probably just watch the sports recaps on TSN or ESPN; as long as there's no soccer highlights!

Add as you would have it poor Danica is out of the race. She says the car was running hot... Probably nothing wrong with the car. NASCAR didn't want her to go down a bunch of laps. Doesn't look good.

I thought that Johanna Long did a great job today until she was involved in the first big crash....and nothing was mentioned of her performance...shame, shame.

I think the implication is that money can buy a race. But we know there is more to it than that. If that were the case Jr. would have won more.

Me thinks Jr gets most of his money from doing Wrangler and Nationwide commercials.

Tony Stewart won the Nationwide DRIVE4COPD300, and Danica came in 36th, but it was marred by a last lap, multi car crash that flipped Kyle Larson's car into the catch fence. The front half off of Kyle's car was tore off and put the right front tire and suspension components up to the second level. Kyle walked away and no drivers were injured. The engine came out and was caught by the fence. At least 15 spectators were injured, two critical, one being a child. 14 were transported to local area medical centers. Hope they will all recover. Extension repairs to the fence should last through the night for tomorrow's race.

Conspiracy theorists abound for almost every facet of life. However, a respected car magazine had a very interesting article a while back about "The call"; an anonymous phone call is received with words to the effect that the team will not have any problems with pre-race or post-race inspection. Decoded, this means that certain prohibited enhancements might be overlooked. It doesn't take much in these days of NASCAR "Managed competition" for a car to have a slight advantage, so a small "undiscovered" change could be the difference between having the potential to win, and being back in the field.

I'm not saying that the teams, drivers and officials are not good people, it's just the overall image and actions that makes me think that NASCAR is skewed toward being the WWF of auto racing...

Jr won two consecutive Nationwide (Busch) series championships before moving up to cup, and Daytona 500 win came after his father was dead. He won four consecutive Talladega races. Just his name, huh?

You right on the money George--I watch every race & enjoy. But my statement is same as yours NASCAR can make a winner of who ever they want. Now some drivers that have zero abilities make it quite difficult for NASCAR !!

If NASCAR was predetermining outcomes, Jr would have multiple championships already. No way NASCAR lets their poster child go two plus seasons without a win.
