I just find it funny that all the haters say they don't watch or follow the sport anymore because of all kinds of silly reasons but they seem to know about every drivers latest news and every race. Racing is entertainment , take or leave it.

Exactly I work in Nascar and there would be no way Nascar could Do it without thousands of people knowing about it and all of them keeping their moths shut, Everything Nascar does is out in the open for everyone to see, Now I will say that they throw some stupid cautions that make no sence

Stupid cautions are one thing yes, trying to block at 200 mph is stupider .

You seem to forget that JJ won 5 consecutive seasons in a row, yet he isn't worshiped by so many.

Rumors have it that he has some kind of advantage in his rear suspension, but I have no idea what that could be. Maybe the way it is mounted or the clearance specs. Whatever it is, it's not against the rules.

You are correct; ALL racing is entertainment, and all sanctioning bodies have varying levels of rules and regulation. I'm not a NASCAR hater, I watch some races but just feel their actions are skewed to the extreme where the entertainment value sometimes exceeds real racing. Evidence the cautions for the mystery French driver "Pierre Debris". And, if NASCAR is so open, why can't I buy their rule book?. I can for every other sanctioning organization.

The rule book issue is just one example of NASCAR desire for absolute control of everything; some years back, they tried to say that any film or electronic image made by a member of the media was NASCAR property. The racing press arose in protest and said something like "OK, we will just stop covering your races". NASCAR promptly backed down; saying something like "perhaps we made a mistake".

Shipping costs? Sorry, couldn't resist.

That's like saying, if I take a picture of a sunset, it is owned by God.

I watched (sort of) today to see what happens. I guess NASCAR's ratings were skewed about .00001% by my TV being on the channel. I did find it surprising that Danika went from third to eighth in about 1/4 of a mile when everyone poured the coals for the final run to the line. The fact that she ran the whole race may be moot to me until they explain some of the weird restart alignments after some dodgy cautions.

In her interview she claimed to be at 1/2 throttle all day; if this is true why wasn't she allowed to run free and show her stuff? Strange attitude but if she is genuine I guess she should be winning one of the races sometime this year.

IMHO I may have been wrong in my initial assessment of her abilities.

O you not wrong Possum. She better be glad they didn't race 3 laps instead of one. Ha
