The Texas Mile

For those of you that wonder what in the heck is the Texas Mile. Well it is all out ran as fast as you can in 1 mile and not get speeding ticket. You can run dang near anything. I saw a diesel motorcycle run about 98 mph and a twin turbo Ford GT40 run 251 mph.

But, here is the rest of the story. I loaded up the RV and took my 2010 Dodge Challenger with a stock 5.7L Hemi down there and ran 146.8. Another guy ran 195.1 and another ran 200.9.

Well, I asked when I checked in and I thought the gal was about to faint. Then I pulled the same stunt on the Tech Inspector... a young kid about 18. I am not sure he knew the difference between a brake rotor and a fan belt. You should has seen the look on his face.

How in the world did they drop that thing in there? I'd like to know what kind of driveline that thing has. It appears to be a automatic as well. Now that would be an interesting project for a car that is now a classic. I don't think mother would buy it though.

It's was tight fit Denny.... I had planned to rent a trailer but due to the weigh of the car (4,062 lbs) I would have had to get a 7k trailer. The tongue weigh with the car on the trailer exceeded the hitch capacity. So, my SIL drove it down and back.
