The Tiny Bird

THE TINY BIRD

I woke early this morning
The earth lay cool and still
When suddenly a tiny bird
Perched on my window sill....

He sang a song so sweetly
So simple and so gay
And slowly all my troubles
Began to Slip Away....

He sang of far off places
Of laughter and of fun
It seemed his very trilling
Brought up the morning sun.......

I slipped beneath the covers
Crept slowly out of bed
And slammed down HARD the window pane
AND CRUSHED HIS STINKIN' HEAD.....................

I am not a morning person............

Seajay the sailor man....

I just love a pretty poem...... Don't you?

Lets all pray for the safety of our troops.........

more later when I think of something worthwhile.......me......

Very closely resembles a cadence call we used to sing in basic and most of my career (until the Army became sensitive to people's feelings).

Little bird with yellow bill.
Crept upon my window sill.
Coached him with bits of bread.
Then crushed his little head

I enjoyed the poem, even to the last itty bitty line - gave me a good chuckle

I saw it coming. The birdies had it coming too. I hate for anything to wake me up from a deep sleep.
Is it nap time?
