The Weather Channel for sale

It would be good to see the Weather Channel get back to weather and get out of "end of the world" politics. Maybe a new owner would help them back on track.

Thanks Gary, I read it on the Drudge report.

I've changed the link above to this one

HERE is a link to the entire story regarding the Batten family's holdings, which include the Weather Channel.

As a native of Norfolk, VA and a long-time resident, I can attest to all the good things the Batten's did for the community in which they've lived for many years.

The timing is right to market the business.... as is said in the article I link to, there may in fact be NO buyer come forward and things will go on as they are now.

Personnally, the weather channel could go off the air and I wouldn't miss it a bit. IMHO, www.nws.noaa.gov provides more accurate and up-to-date weather forcasts at pin-point locations, just point and click...

We are fortunate in our area (Lehigh Valley area, PA) to have the only regional 24/7 AccuWeather station in the country. They give me the weather (imagine that!) without editorial comment.

Are we discussing the "Drama Channel" here? You know, the one that makes a possible developing tropical depression sound like a cat 5 hurricane about to wipe out entire east coast of the United States.
