One team won and one lost everytime a baseball or basketball game was played in our neighborhood.

We played "Cowboys & Indians" using BB-guns and we had real Indian kids. Everyone wore the old leather Army Air Corps helmets and we all knew enough to not shoot anyone in the head. If you got ambushed you looked like you had measles!!

Supper? I remember saying I don't like this---and the reply was: You are going to sit there until you do!!

Supper: Unless you were foolish you never said you did not like something or you got another helping but that did not work for the things you really liked.

Same rules, amazing no one lost an eye. I still have a small dent in my forehead from a BB. At 10-11 y/o, we would go out to Gunpowder River (10 miles) on our bicycles and swim all day.
Ride the trolley all over Baltimore. -For a nickel token-
Kids never got hassled.. (Were there no creeps or did we just not know about them??)

We had a dinner bell and would run home when it rang. Also had to be home when the street lights came on. Summertime it was normal to be out playing all day. Mom would kick us kids out and tell us not to come home till the dinner bell rings.
