I had the same problem as TXIceMan - and unfortunately I was on my work laptop at the time. I am totally infected with the malware and will have to get with my IT folks tomorrow. I can't start up in Safe Mode with the work securities/login.

By the time a student graduates from a K-5 school experience in Virginia, they have taken 13 state mandated tests that mostly measure recall of basic facts and a few limited and easy to test skills. In middle school, they take 10 more. In high school, they can't graduate without passing at least 6 more. Think this has anything to do with some of the changes?

However, DW wanted to let you know in CA (where she grew up in that era) they used playing cards to make the motoring sound on the bicycle wheel spokes. I guess her parents gambled a lot.

In WV (where I'm from) we used baloons.

Dave
CA, balloons also, gave a deeper thump thump sound like a big motorcycle

When Billy Thompsons porch light came on every body would yell good night and went home.
Today I can't tell you why we did but we just did.

Nope, right thread - when I clicked on the link in the first post, I was immediately infected. I only got to see the first slide and then boom, I'm fighting a malware.

I had the same thing happen also. My Norton virus scan blocked it and killed it.

We used cards also.
Went out 8am and came back home at 5pm and my Mother knew everything we did that day. Talk about IM, e-mail or Texting today, our parents had a better system back then called the Party-phone.

Thanks Gary for remembering with us. Yes, I was a part of that generation and wish the world would be as uncomplicated now as then. We used to never lock our front doors and kept the windows open, no AC, no central heat, etc, etc. What a simple life it was. We also used playing cards on bike spokes and if we were lucky we had a crystal radio to listen to when the lights went off at night. Thanks again.

Now I got to see since the link was fixed do go directly to You Tube.

Yep, that was when I grew up and had a great time. I feel sorry for the kids today that do not get to enjoy the simple pleasures of being a kid.
