With some of the emails and text messages I receive, it makes some of those Over-seas Spam emails start to look better. Keep up the good work.

Wow, so many aversions to words or phrases. I support banning or shunning those who use them and have my own not all inclusive list of hakneyed words and phrases that make me cringe at times. Words inappropriatly used or included as redundant and meanless insertions in the sentence structure detract from the message and tell plenty about the person who uses such an abstract way to communicate. It is most often not complimentary, unless they are used to make a point and should be appropriatly emphasized.

I note many people say: "Where are you at? What does "at" add to this sentence? Who indeed says this? Well, I have heard it a lot and once is too many for me,

And I agree that banning "Change out" is a good plan. Why not just "Change"?

And "Basically" I would say yes? Well does this mean just yes? Is is the yes modified somehow? "Basically" should be banished to the trash bin. It has no place in formal or informal communication.

Oh yes, those who use "cause" when they meant to say "because". There is no relationship between these words and they are NOT interchangable. It is not cool to use these abberations or using a word inappropriatly.

I could continue with my rant with words and phrases such as: Like, "You Know", "know what I'm sayin" and so on. I would never say or write such dribble, But that is just me and when I hear or see these sayings, I roll my eyes and think not so nice things about the person using them,

Nothing beats clear and concise oral and written communication to convey a message. Just keep it simple and unless the jargon is understood in the community, it is best to spell it out "IMHO". SMS (Instant Messaging) has it's own vocabulary, of which I am not opposed, but I hope it does not find it's way into formal communication or into the boardroom. LOL used to mean Lots Of Love, to some, but not in SMS speak.

Some words and phrases are overused, but many have thier place to emphasize a point so one needs to be selective in thier use. And well, we all make typos and at times simply select the wrong word, such as complimentary vs complementary, or insure vs ensure. In forums like this, why sweat the small stuff when we undertand the intent.

AMAZING and EXCLUSIVE are mine...

Every time I see something remarkable ( in the true meaning of the word, "worthy of remark") it is described as "AMAZING", just remarkable to me how many times I am not amazed by the supposed amazing thing.

And EXCLUSIVE, if the Today Show does not use that word 10 times a day, they are having a slow day. But what is AMAZING is how many times that same day I will see the EXCLUSIVE report on other media outlets. It is also remarkable how many AMAZING EXCLUSIVE reports they have!!

Had a dune friend that had "Absolutely" on the back of his enclosed trailer. Said absolutely all the time. I think he was picking up on what he heard elsewhere.

No brag, just fact!

Painted on the plate attached to my 58 Ford, 3 speed in floor.

I had a 54 Ford with 3 on the floor. Put dual quads on the little ole 239 Cu. In. It didn't like that much air/fuel.
