Thousand Trails Membership
Hello. I have been looking 4 someone who doesn't want/need their membership anymore and wants to get rid of it.

This one is listed on the Escapees forum now.
This Thousand Trail, NACO, Leisure National Life Membership is continuous lifetime 14 night stays with one week out and/or up to 3 night stays continuous for 365 days with no days out. Transfer fee: $250 for cousin or other family member or $750 for non-family member - are you family? They have long ago had better days.
There are sensible reasons that memberships are available and cheap.

I tend to agree that TT seems to be on the downhill side. I have not used one nor am I a member, but I have stopped and toured a couple and was now impressed. QUESTION: is there a viable alternative similar?

Alternative? I remember another membership campground company about 25 years ago: Camp Coast-To-Coast. Are they still around?

Passport America and Good Sam are both discount programs - Passport America gives one discounts, anywhere from 10% to 50% on some nights - some parks give the discount for one or two nights per stay, others do it for longer, most have several restrictions.

Neither of these own the campgrounds - they contract with the campgrounds to offer the discounts. Coast to Coast is another membership option, but one needs to purchase a membership in a "home park" to become eligible for a Coast to Coast membership. According to the two parks I called that were listed on the Coast to Coast website, that "home park membership" means the purchase of a lot. Then a membership fee to Coast to Coast. Neither was very forthcoming with info.

Howdy!
I did a lot of research before purchasing our TT's membership several years ago. We purchased a used Platinum membership on Craig's list for penny's on the dollar. TT's has changed a lot sense we purchased it but as fulltimers we still get our monies worth from the membership. We can stay 21 days in a park and move park to park no charge unless we pay extra for 50amp service at some. We could if want stay 365 day a year at no charge other than dues if we wanted but have not. That's still not a bad deal. The problem we see now is most of the TT's parks are being filled by seasonal folks which leave less and less sites for members like us.

Thanks for the great first hand info. Nothing like experience.
With the increase of seasonal folks, do you sometimes find you are not able to get in a park at all? For a full timer this might present problems.
