tire monitors
Am considering buying a tire pressure monitor system. Are there systems to stay away from or is one just as good as the other. Also, can one charge batteries with a battery charger using AC from an inverter to keep the charger running? I'm talking all off the same motorhome.

Some TPMS systems do not have user replaceable batteries. You must send them back to the manufacturer for exchange, cost is about $35 plus shipping for each. The sealed units do last a long time though, usually 5 to 7 years before needing replacing. The units with replaceable batteries will need batteries about once a year
As to the charging question: NO, the inverter will draw more power than it can put back in. There's something like a 10% loss for each conversion so you'd be inverting from 12 to 120 and then 120 to 12 for about a 20% loss.

I just ordered a TST system today and I used to be a Pressure Pro distributor/dealer.

Been running TST since the day they started. Had the 510's and they lasted around 5 years. Have the 507's now and really like them. The monitor will advise you when the batteries are running low. Customer service is outstanding and so is the product. Nice to roll down the road as the monitor flows through the tire pressure and temp on each tire.

The 507 sensors uses CR1632 3V batteries. You can find great deals on them on Ebay. One of the sellers lives across town from me and I usually get them the next day.

Haven't compared the longevity to the $5/battery ones at auto stores, but like posted, the monitor will tell you when a sensor battery is low.

Stay far away from Doran RV360. Nothing but problems with their sensors and lost signals.
I finally found a really good reliable TPMS called Tire SafeGuard.

Doran used to be a reseller of the Pressure Pro system under their name. Same exact system as the Pressure Pro. Then they brought out the 360 system. After I quit handling the Pressure Pro lineup I didn't follow the Doran stuff.

i have the original tst truck tpms. some of my sensors (3) are requiring replacement after 5 years. the price is $19.95 each exchange. they are sending me new sensors, not just replacing the batteries in my old ones.
i am satisfied with this system.

What batteries are you trying to charge with an inverter? You certainly can not charge the RV's batteries with it.However it can be used with a charger to charge batteries for cameras, phones, etc.
