We helped jump start a stumper for a tree crew one day.. They had tried to jump it off their truck.. I ask them how they hooked up their cables and they said "Hot to Hot, Ground to Ground" and ask how much more positive to positive that could get.. My answer: 24 volts.

The Stumper was POSITIVE GROUND (The truck of course, negative)

A tow truck driver jumpstarting my wife's car hooked the red cable to the red wire on teh battery.. Which was also ground.

You got to pay attention to the markings... But then.. I know that. being cross trained in electrical and electronics (Certified in electronics) I know that colors are not always what you expect.

Please fellows;
Rednecks drive Ford trucks; wouldn't be caught dead in a dodge.

I knew there was a reason I liked Chevy's (And Dodges) better than Ford.

Guy once told me that "attitude is space talk for how one object approaches or relates to another". After reading the OPs post I guess there might be other definitions also. Just sayin'of course.

Yes ray, but that is in molecular form, when you are talking about oxygen and hydrogen not yet combined,, then it's "Brown's Gas"

Brown's gas plus Spark = Water plus BIG BOOM

And when that happens.. I, for one, do not want to be there.
2 parts hydrogen to one oxygen is not a gas. it is commonly called Water and in all respects, innocuous.

So just how did the towed vehicle get a dead battery ? That's the real question.

And speaks to who is what.

I'm guessing he has a brake in a box system like Brake Buddy, Even Brake, et-al.

I know for a fact he does not have a US-Gear unified brake decelerator.
