Here's one on myself. I was backing into a spot at Lake Fausse Point, Louisianna. My lovely wife was guiding me back (no backup camera ) I kept backing and she kept guiding until I heard a kerr-plop. Got out to see what all the fuss was about, only to find I had dumped my beloved into the swamp. Being the redneck gentleman that I am, I offered my hand in a kind gesture to help extracate her from the bog, which she greatfully accepted. Point is...Just as long as you follow up after being a yay-hoo everything will work out !!

The term REDNECK comes from the union wars in WV. In order for the unionist people to reconiZe their buddies, they wore red bandanas around their necks, Hence the term Redneck.
Now that is the truth , you can check it out. but......................
Where else but WV could it have come from?

Saw someone start a car once without cables. He removed his battery and set it upside down on the other battery terminal to terminal while the one in the car turned the key. Don't think I would try it but it did work.

And it could all simply be how these "rednecks" where approached in the first place that made them lose their memory.

Rednekedness is not a function of geography, but of mindset. I call them Rednexicans.
I've seen as many rednecks in Upstate New York as I have in Georgia. Mr. Foxworthy defines the affliction well. Query him to further characterize the Rednexican (redneckus americanus).

Originally from NYC but having lived in 10 other states, I find "Rednecks" to be among the most friendly and helpful people. And don't fall for a statement they are of lesser intelligence or slow.
BTW, I am not a gracious fellow either.

I carry a battery charger with me and after towing the car for a couple days I put the battery charger on the car at night and it is charged by morning.
I did this because it is such a pain to unhook the car and push it to where the cables will reach the motorhome battery. I probably really looked like a redneck when I did that in the rain.

Fact: There is a right way and a wrong way to hook up the cables
Fact: perhaps 1% of those hooking up cables do it the right way
Question: What do the other 99 do wrong?
Answer tomorrow.

Attach the ground clamp to the battery terminal rather than the vehicle chassis...
In order to AVOID the arcing that occurs when both terminals are attached, one should - Attach the pos and neg terminals to the "charging battery"
- Attach the pos to the dead battery
- Finally as far AWAY from the dead battery as possible attach the neg to a ground, such as a bolt on the chassis
What do I win?

99% connect the ground cable directly to the negative terminal on the dead battery.
Humm, never knew I was a 1 percenter!
I just added 10 gauge wiring from my chassis battery to my toad battery, fused at both sides. I have 14 volts going to my toad when underway. No more jump starting after a long day of downhill driving.
