What ever your political persuasion it's over today (I hope) and the country must come together behind the winner and heal. Tomorrow the "American People" "all of us" must start working to straighten out the mess we're in. Let's all pray that the worst is over.

God willing, 4 years from now I can vote again.
I have never understood a low percentage voter turnout.

The election of Barack Obama speaks volumes about the people in our great country. It is time that we judge a man by his merits or what we feel in our gut and not by the color of his skin. Perhaps we will be taken back to the hopes and dreams of our founding fathers when they said "for the people, by the people"¯.

As Abraham Lincoln said in the Gettysburg Address:
"...that this nation under God shall have a new birth of freedom, and that
government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth."

It's up to all of us to see that this great nation remains a great nation.

I did exercise my right to vote. Didn't mind at all standing in line to do it either.
I have friends who did NOT vote as they did NOT like their choices.
Their decision was to do nothing.
And as others have said - if you can't bother to get up and vote - don't bother complaining to me when government is doing what you want them to do.
It will take a while - but our country and her people are strong - we will all survive the hard times and we'll be even stronger for it!

All the partisan BS of the past, needs to be in the past. The "American People" will do what needs doing to move forward! We should say a few prayers for our leaders, present and future and our Brave troops that the end of this insanity around the world is coming to an end.

At least two great things came out of this process:
1. The number of voters continued to increase
2. The awareness of the issues and where local, State and Federal candidates stood on those issues has increased. We, the people, are best served when we are involved the process and know what is going on.

There were a lot of core issues raised in the past two years. If we all follow the progress on those issues, our country is going to be better for it.

We have to keep a positive out look on things, and when something is not being done to your satisfaction, it is really easy to get on the internet and track down you local and federal representatives and send them a note. They do get a summary of the emails received and do resond to most of them through their staff.

You will only be heard if you speak up.
