Today's Indy 500 is forecast to the be the "hottest 500" ever!
According the local News resources the temperature in the speedway is going to approach 94° while the temperature on the track will be in the neighborhood of 140°.
I expect that there will be many heat related medical emergencies today during the event and I am concerned about the drivers. Not only is it going to hot inside the car but the ambient air around the car is going to be hot therefore reducing the downforce on the aero package on the car. These cars are literally glued to the track aero wise but a hot racing surface may increase the possibility of these 200 MPH racecars loosing grip.
I am wishing all the race fans and drivers to have a fun filled day and to have a great race!
