Toilet paper

This maybe a old subject but I am new to this. Do I have to buy the RV toilet paper? What other brands I can use instead of the RV toilet paper?

We have been using Charmin Extra Soft for almost two years with no problem. Breaks down very well. Using plenty of water with the brown flush is the key to keeping things flowing.

I once read to test a toilet paper my putting a couple squares in a mason jar with half full of water, give it a mild swirl and set it aside. It should break down fairly quickly, if it does it's ok to use , if not don't.

For those of us that have owned boats ... nothing goes in the head (toilet) that hasn't passed thru our bodies first.

Been RV'ing since long before RV's had holding tanks in them. In all that time I've only used the RV TP when it came with a new rig. Otherwise it's been what ever we had in the stick house. For many years now that's been the Kirkland brand.
We've owned boats and it was the same with them too.

Don't waste your money on RV toilet paper. I've been using Kirkland brand for years and no problems. Angel soft also is good. But any single ply paper works. There are a few people that use charmin and again no problems. I think most problems occur by improperly emptying the black tank.

Google "youtube rv toilet paper" and you'll find many videos talking about this and how to test the various brands.

We also use the Kirkland brand from Costco.

Scott 1000 here. Available at any Walmart, et al. Noted on Scott's web site as ok for RV usage.

We have used the Charmin Ultra Soft 2-ply tissue for 15 years with no problems. We do also use the Happy Camper black tank treatment which dissolves just about everything!
