The local weather in the RGV says it should be a clear, calm night for the total lunar eclipse between 21:00 to 21:20 hrs. CST.

Gonna be clear and beautiful viewing here tonight! Hubby already has the telescope and binoculars ready to go. We're looking forward to talking with other skywatchers and finding the favorite "dark sky" camping sites. We are looking for info. about a CG in New Mexico for astronomers...they have telescopes you can rent, etc.

Don't need a telescope or even binoculars to view a lunar eclipse. Best viewed nude eye.

Just came insice after checking out the eclipse. A little chilly out at 6 degrees, but the night turned perfectly clear and was great for viewing.

Great view of the eclipse.... and it's 6 degrees here as well, with another 60 degrees added to it!

I was able to get this blurry photo from my back deck at 7:45pm Pacific. The moon is just starting to come out of the shadow. 15second exposure at f3.3 for those that care about the technical details.

Sitting here at Port Townsend, WA on the North Olympic Peninsula at 8:07 PST. Clear sky, just an up-side-down "eyebrow" showing. The eclipse was starting as the Moon came up over the Cascades to the East, then out of sight into the clouds. Now 8:12 and the "eyebrow" is growing bigger on the bottom....
