So you think NY, LA, or Houston is bad, or any other city in the US. Take a look at:

I was about to say the same thing, but in 66-67. The only difference is more cars and less cyclo's,
and mopeds.....

Rush hour where I live is 3 cars in the intersection. Parking tickets just went up from $5. Parking meters just went up from $0.05.

The first time I drove onto Saigon, I was driving a (1/4 ton) jeep. The traffic was more terrifying than was being shot at. I quickly realized that there waqs only one traffic rule in Saigon: "The larger vehicle has the right of way." After that, I always drove a 2-1/2 ton truck. I never had any more problems with traffic.

During my tour in 1967, we always found it a real treat to ride in the back of a taxi cab from my base at Tan Son Nhut to uptown Saigon. Wheeee!

All the scooters reminded me of the traffic around the Colosseum in Rome at any time of day, not just rush hour.

I'll bet a dollar to a donut you never saw 4 people riding on one scooter in Rome. I found it amazing how the Vietnamese people could balance all those bodies and still steer straight.
