Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Who has seen the Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The Official Website and what did you think? My point of view: It was the most impressive concert's we have ever been to and if they come close to you.....GO AND SEE THEM! "The Christmas Show"

Also, go on you-tube and watch their videos, their Christmas music is coming to your radio station soon.... http://www.youtube.com/results?searc...orchestra&sm=1

We saw them about eight years ago. Thought it was fantastic. Since then they have not been near where we were at Christmas time. We liked it so much we bought a box set of their CDs and DVDs.

One thing to keep in mind is that they are not a single band. The night we saw them they played in another city the same night so it appears they are just musicians put together.

You are correct, only the crème of the crème get hand selected to play or sing in the bands

They are impressive, especially if you have not been exposed to "orchestral rock". However, TSO does have a very limited repertoire, which diminishes their impact significantly.
If you've never seen them in concert, by all means go. You won't regret it. After that, buy the DVD set and watch at home for considerably less than the price of concert tickets.

I've seen the Christmas show several times - San Jose, CA, Austin, TX, and Houston, TX. Great shows.

I want to see Beethoven's Last Night...

There are two founders who write the music and design the shows. They each take a touring company on the road for the season.

We've seen them twice in Fresno, CA.

We very seldom go to see shows, other than plays, and really recommend seeing their show.

Here is a little history reading Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia on the founders and the band.

One of the amazing things was that they played for the whole two and a half hours, no intermission.

Many years ago we went to a John Denver concert. At intermission the band left the stage and John performed until the intermission was over and the band was back on stage. Talk about an impressive performance.
