We're planning the same. Sell the huge house that sits empty more than half the year, store what we want to keep, and hit the road. We've budgeted between $20-25,000 a year for accommodation, fuel and maintenance. Even if it's more, we don't see a problem.

Our house costs us about $1000/month and we already spend about $15,000/year using our coach.

The good thing is that where we live, the houses are worth huge sums, and the money we would bank would cover our expenses a few times over.

We plan on travelling at most two years, then buying a condo, and continuing the "half-timing" that we currently do. Of course, we'll reassess as we go.

Our house costs us about $1000/month and we already spend about $15,000/year using our coach.

That comes out to be $27,000 per year. That's closer to what you'll actually need unless you'll be doing bare bones camping, traveling, and entertainment. We've been fulltiming for 5yrs. now and our expenses have been in the $30k-$35K range. I know some do it for less, but when we retired I didn't want to miss anything because of a strict budget. In 2012 we spent $40k because we went from AZ. to AK. for the summer. Then from AK. to FL. to spend the winter. The big expense of course was fuel, but we were able to recoup a lot we spent by sitting still in FL. for 5mos. We don't put the miles down like we did, preferring to spend time in certain areas, that usually means monthly stays, which saves money. But the $30K-$35k is normal for us.
