Ready to buy, but have a couple questions about the TST brand of Tire Pressure Management Systems:

TST 507RV or TST 510RV? and why?

I'd like feedback on the pros and cons of using a flow through or non flow through sensor

Well I may be wrong but I think the 507 has flow through sensors and replaceable batteries.

Flow through - physically larger, slower to push air through, don't have to remove to add air.

Regular - opposite of the above.

I have both on my coach. Regular with the locking collar removed on the front due to wheel cover clearance issue with the flow through. Flow through on the rear where physical clearance no issue. Both work equally well as far as operational functionality. I seldom have to add air, so the convenience of the flow through is not a biggy, nor is having to remove the fronts. If I had a do-over, I would probably go with regulars all around, with the locks removed.

I bought the 510RV and regret buying it. Maybe you'll have better luck with the flow through sensors, but the non flow like I have are inaccurate and have intermittent problems communicating with the head unit.

I recommend a different brand. Also, look at these for the rear. Dual Dynamics Once the TST sensors die out completely, I'm going to get the crossfire for the rear and a different brand of TPMS for the front.

I just bought a 507. I was encouraged to make a TPMS decision by a blown tire (first indication was seeing chucks of rubber flying off the trailer in the side view mirror). It was an easy install and is working as I expected.

Have had the TST for about 8 months--so far so good. Like the "owner replaceable bats" feature. Initially concerned that the flow thrus were 2-3 lbs low on PSI [as compared to other hand-held devices???] but once you do the math--no problem. One or more of the flow thrus do seem to adjust [fill and deflate] more slowly than the others. Biggest plus is the customer service--got a problem, they fix it!!!!

my answer very simple KISS princepal {keep it simple stupid} its no big deal to remove 1 at a time to fill,as ur already there anyway.don't try &do to much w/anything elec.

Actually I did find it a bit of a problem removing the sensors to add air but I recently received the flow throughs and it does seem to take a long time to increase the pressure. I haven't made a decision as to what is better but on the first 400 miles seems like (Thats seems like not a fact) that the newer flow throughs send a more accurate signal. I was losing signals on the drivers duals and the tow cars. Now I am receiving signals from all wheel positions and have not installed in the repeater. I had a Doran previously and it worked OK but I wanted temps which that Doran did not provide.

I wasn't happy with mine. Just gave up on them as they wouldn't transmit to the receiver. I just got to the point where I didn't want to continue the process to make them work as I have become a costumed RV stuff not working.

I owned a 510 system for 3 years but when the batteries needed replacement the cost of replacement was nearly the cost of a new 507 system. TST seemed to "want" me to make the switch to the 507 and gave me a "repeat customer" discount that made it somewhat palatable. In retrospect I'm sorry that I bought the 510 and should have bought the 507 originally. I never realized that the battery replacement cost would make the 510 a very poor investment.

The good news is that both systems have performed well. I did need a repeater with the 507 that wasn't needed with the 510. Customer service has been excellent when I have needed it.

I bought the 507 TPMS and it has worked flawlessly. I had bought the repeater as well but turns out its not required as the signal comes through strong. I like that the battery can be replaced easily and the sensors cannot be removed except with the provided tool, preventing theft.

If you buy any other system besides TST, I have to ask why? If enough people told me that the quality and service were the best, over and over again, I think that should be convincing enough. All I can say is you won't regret it. Give Debbie at TST a call at 770-889-9102. These are the friendliest most helpful people you'll ever deal with.

OK. I hope I have the numbers right. I bought the 510 system a few years ago. It has worked OK.

Within a year of initial purchase, I had to send the system back to TST because I was experiencing erratic readings. They did whatever they do and sent the system back and it worked OK until last year.

The sensor batteries began to fade, so I sent the system back to TST. They replaced the sensors and sent the system back to me. It cost about the same as buying a complete new system.

I guess my opinion is first and foremost, have a TPMS. Second, when purchasing a new system, I would buy one with sensors that have replaceable batteries. I don't know if the particular brand is all that important, because I think they are all made in China anyway.

I have the TST flow thru model. Been in use for about 1 year with no problems. Batteries still good. Initially I had one that was leaking due to a cracked housing. Called TST & they had a replacement out the same day with a return address label to return the bad one. I haven't noticed it taking any longer to add air to the tires.
No complaints.
