TV shows

Has anyone ever been interviewed by a TV show? Like the travel channel?

I was on vacation in Dublin right after Ireland put all their birth certificates online. A news crew interviewed me, I guess I was the only American of Irish decent they could find.

I'm sitting here in the Buckeye state, waiting on the weather to decide what it is going to do. All the while watching the Travel channel's extreme rv. Wondering if anyone had ever been on there? My wife does not realize that we are going on the road when I retire, at least for a little while.

I've been interviewed for several reasons over the years. TV news item on school shots, newspaper for a festival we were in, TV news for other festivals, and various other things.
What did you want to know? Do they keep the whole quote that you do or do they break things up to fit what they want? Yes if they need to do that they will break up your quotes. If not then what you say will show up completely.

When i coached high school basketball it was fun until one reporter used my quotes or parts of a quote that would change the meaning of the interview and not in a nice way. Happenned once and never talked to the media again.

Yea it's gotten to the point that unless I absolutely have to talk to them then I go in a different direction. Thom's directed shows before and I have been his assistant and have had to talk to them about the shows and stuff. At that point it's "just the facts ma'am and nothing but the facts" or at least I try to just keep it short and nothing but the facts.

I took a picture once that they printed in the local paper. (The local paper has about 4000 readers I suppose.) Here is the paper:

News and Sports from Windom, MN and surrounding areas - Windom, MN

that is my only clame to fame.

Wise thought in my opinion.
