The temporary span opened yesterday (June 20th). It has a 40 mph speed limit instead of the 60 mph the rest of the freeway has. The DOT is still predicting the final replacement span will open late Sept., and that it will only require a short closure to remove the temporary one, roll the replacement into position and fasten it down.

I'm impressed that DOT and its contractors managed to get it done so quickly.

Frank, so am I, as it usually takes a couple of years of bureaucratic bumbling, to get to the point of the government of the day, making an almost definitive report that advances everything to the position of an almost definite maybe.
