But the 18s are quite noticeably louder. We use to talk to my parents when the 14s went over but had to wait when the 18s passed.

If my memory is not failing me, this is not the first crash in the Virginia Beach area, and it most likely will not be the last.

You're right Wayne. There have been several crashes out of Oceana over the years. A couple that I remember when I was a child growing up there. I'm sure there will be more, it's the nature of the business. When military men play and train with their machines, things inevitably go wrong from time to time. As you well know being retired USMC. Semper Fi buddy and thanks for your service. I only hope that when the next one occurs there's no loss of life.

We are currently in Trav-L-Park. Approximately 1/2 way between Oceana and the crash site. We were driving on Atlantic Ave (approx 2 mi.) when the crash happened. After 27 years in the fire service I can say without a doubt the emergency responders and citizens of VB can be nothing but proud of their response. Like their congressman said: there are more men and women in uniform in this Congressional District then anywhere else in the country. Good job VB!
