Reminded of the old Irish song about a drought and the rain storm that ended it, Seems the Hired hand was out dancing in the rain and the farmer hollered at him "GET BACK HERE IN THE BARN I DON'T WANT TO WASTE A SINGLE DROP ON THe LIKES OF YOU!!

I do agree the rain is nice, but it's too late in the year, Rain in the spring helps the crops to grow large and sweet

Rain now damages what little crops there are and makes things even worse.

But then.. That's what I get for growing up on a farm (knowledge of how rain affects crops, both good and bad) .
Home is where I park it!

Our 'crop" is grass and rain in August is a God send to green it up, help it grow a little root and top reserve for the winter and just maybe put a little water in our dry and almost dry ponds. So, it does not damage all crops when it comes late in the summer, in fact it is essential for the life of the grass and with the price of hay we need all the grass we can get to get our cows through the winter. Lots of perspectives on weather and its effects, general statements rarely work for all.

Glad you are getting some rain. Have friend in Johnson City who has been keeping me updated to the terribly dry conditions there. Lake Medina is almost unbelievable, seems they are actually farming and ranching in the lake bed. We have been getting some nice showers up here in the NE corner but big lakes are still very low from last years lack of rain.
