Ray, I thought your 1% figure sounded a little low, so I googled the numbers, and around 7% of the U.S. population are armed forces veterans, and about .75% of the population are in uniform at the present time. Thanks for catching my mistake. I wrote it wrong,as you correctly said. My 1% should have been as you stated, "in uniform". 7% is still a small percentage; they are the best and bravest of the 100%.
