The good ones far outweigh the bad ones. I think it is commonly understood that when veterans are being praised, it is the honorable ones that those giving praise are talking about.

Let's look at the video again. Do you see slackers being pictured there. I don't think so. There are not to many videos that praise the slackers so lets give praise to veterans and leave it at that.

In my 23+ years in the Corps I have served with many different service men and women. Some I respected, and some I did not, however for all those that I did not respect others may have. Who is to say they do not deserve praise.

Mel S, I disagree with your statement.

Amen to that. Semper Fi from a former Navy "Squid"!
My deepest thanks to all who have served and to all who are serving.
My family has had at least one member continuously serving since 1861. And several are serving today.

There have been, (and are), a lot of slackers and ne'er-do-wells in the military.
Painting them all with a broad brush is a disservice, (and insulting), to the good ones.
Mel

In my mind, if they were truly slackers or ne'er-do-wells, they did not really serve, and certainly not honorably.

However. they ARE "Veterans" none the less, (and they are "honored" on Veteran's Day.

I served in the US Navy for eight years during Vietnam. The upcoming Veterans Day will be my first time off... Because I just retired!

Thanks for posting that Wayne.
Approximately 1% of American population have served our Nation in the military. They/we deserve that recognition.
