Viewed a surreal thing this morning, proud parent swans, with youngins between them.
Sittin on the corner 4 feet from morning traffic, heavy traffic, like they did not have a care in the world. Just sitting there, Father on the left, 2 youngins in the center, mom on the right.
Like they were people watching, wondering why everyone was in such a dang hurry. It was surreal, wildlife sitting on a corner looking at humans Just watching morning kaios unfold in suburban America.

Yu should have jumped out and feed them some bread. Those swans are very friendly to humanoids...especially when they have babies around.

Wish I could have, but I was in traffic and did not want to cause a distraction to man or beast. And did not want to be responsible for unintended consequences.
So I left them alone. Days later, no blood on the road, and have not seen them since.
Two years ago the Boy Scouts tried to have there fishing day by the creek right by their nest. The Boy Scouts were, run off by the Swans, Scoutmaster complained to the homeowner who's pond they frequented. Homeowner responded, they are not my pets, they are wild animals.

They probably thought that no predators would get the babies that close to people. I know that deer will do that. We build huge cottages here in Muskoka. We can have 10 or 15 men banging and nailing, machines running around, and still a mother deer will bring her little fawns right up to the bush beside the work going on. I guess they know we wont hurt them. I guess we are far less scary than the wolves and coyotes in the bush.

I was kidding with my, they are "friendly" remarks...swans are as mean as a two-headed rattlesnake...especially if they have babies nearby.
