With all the bad storms we have been having in the South, what do you do if while camping a bad storm is heading your way? We just got back from a short trip to Northeast Louisiana and while there the weather got back, in fact a very large tree limb fell about 50 feet from our Coach. We took refuge in the bath house, along with several other folks. The storm didn't damage any coaches in our area, but I understand a couple of miles from us, there was quite a bit of damage and one man was killed when a tree fell on him while he and his daughter were camping.

Not sure I will be taking anymore trips until this weather settles down.

A good question to ask when you first check into a campground is where the storm shelter is located. Unfortunately, most campgrounds don't have anything more substantial than a cement block bath house, but that's a better place to be in a tornado than in an RV.

I agree Paz, even outside lying in a drainage ditch is better than being in an RV or mobile home during a tornado, leastways that is what the NWS is telling everyone.
