17 years in Highway Heavy Construction as a Project Cost Coordinator, and finally 23 years with USPS, retired in April of 2008. DW has about 3 more years before she can call it quits.

39 years in the commercial finance business --- from entry level to President of my own company. Present company (not mine) is in the process of liquidating so you might say "I am working to do away with my job." Gonna retire after this one.

Wife has worked for a major electrionic company (used to be b4 the crash last year) for 36 years and followed me all over the US in my job changes as well as raising our one son (now 40 years old).

Retired as Chief Fire Inspector in 1995 and than worked until 2006 for 3 Towns that were developing their Hudson River Waterfronts as the plan reveiwer and inspector on all new construction for Fire Safety. The reason I retired was "I was burnt out".

8 years 70-78 in the Navy. 31 years as a powerplant operator in a factory for Pfizer. As of today I have 683 days until retirement.

My Bride was a party planner/wedding consultant for 22 years. She retired from that (THANK GOODNESS) and now she is the center of town gossip as she pretends to work at a local food market.

Computer Software Engineer. In and out of Defense, commercial, etc. Laid off right now. Thinking of going back as contract labor. Especially since my 401K's took a dive. There is no reason to be a full time employee any more. There is no loyalty from either side and the benefits are not so good anymore.

I used to be in marketing communications, but my mother thought I played the piano in a whore house. Please don't tell her I didn't!

Retired from IBM after 35 1/2 years in computer maintenance. Worked on teleprocessing terminals for several years. That's what they called it before networking. The last 16 years I serviced banking equipment and mainframe systems. I've been retired 7 years and about have it figured out.

When I graduated high school did not know what electronics was so the Army sent me to learn Radio Repair at the Southeastern Signal School in GA. When I got out of the Army I went to school to learn computer repair. Fixed computers for 10 years then went into telecommunications. After 25 years with AT&T I retired but I'm still looking for something new to do for a while.
