Foremost, the cellphone. But I would also lump together the Internet and the cellphone -- they are a tremendous combo.

Age 58.

Although I love the internet and cell phones, I have to say medical advancements. People have a much easier time of it with wheelchairs, stents, motorized scooters, TPA (clot buster), and so many more. All those things make life easier for everyone who needs them.

I am 54 and remember having a black and white TV with 4 channels. Our Internet was a bookcase full of books called Encyclopedias.I was a HVAC serviceman for a company and we had a beeper that when it beeped we had to call the office only problem was finding a pay phone to call.I also remember using a map to find out where you are going.I couldn't imagine going back.
I also fix everything with youtube. The younger people assumed that we have always had Cell Phones and the internet.I have seen a lot of changes in my lifetime most for the better.
Cellphone
internet
Computers
Color TV with cable
GPS
Agree with microprocessors I think all of the above needs them
Fuel injection replacing carburetors

And if had not been for Shockley inventing the Transistor, none of this would be possible!

In a related but not quite identical vein, I am going to go with digital data storage. Phones, Camera's, Computers, GPS, Music, Movies, TV's, just about everything electronic owes something to this these days. 51

The M134 Minigun. Now I just have to figure out how to mount it in the nose of the coach.

Let us know how that works out. I often think of the advances in my lifetime and feel a litlle overwhelmed, I am 66. Television was new, we didn't have one until I was 8 because there was no station in range of an antenna. I think the transistor and integrated circuit are two of the most influential inventions, they opened up a whole new world. Now if we can just get rid of cell phones before I run over some idiot stepping off a curb while texting.

Being able to download music by individual songs to make playlists. No more spending half the day making mix tapes on cassettes Or CDs.
