Was on interstate 95 Sunday in New Hampshire when stopped at the toll both to pay my buck and the toll taker reached out his hand and said "welcome home brother" , took me a second to remember I have veteran plates on my jeep. That was a first for Me at a toll booth ! It was also pretty touching.

USAF 75-84, contractor 85 & 86.

My employer actively recruits veterans, especially for our technical positions. Today I was asked why we actively sought out veterans. I replied that we aren't seeking veterans, we're seeking good employees and experience has shown us that veterans are typically highly trained, highly motivated, and simply make good employees. Naturally, there are exceptions to that trend, but we have a higher success rate recruiting veterans than any other group of potential employees.

You are correct about the RA vs AR also my numbering system was wrong. I tried to edit the post but could not. Sorry.

It should read
Joined the Army RA 00-000-000
Drafted US 00-000-000
National Guard NG 00-000-000

Sure hope it correct this time.

I had a blank check open to the 'United States of America' for 27 years. It was never cashed, so now I get to enjoy retirement and being able to somewhat relax. I still 'feel' for my brothers in arms! God Bless them all!

USAF 6714 served from 61-68. Basic training San Antonio Texas to Columbus Mississippi to Izmir Turkey to Charleston SC. I think anyone running for President must have served at least two years for the Military builds Character and a Respect for our flag and our Country that I am not seeing today from a lot of our leaders starting at the top. Just my opinion God Bless Our Troops And God Bless America Land Of Brave And Home Of The Free Because Of Our Veterans !!!!!

Female Veterans

While there are fewer women veterans, we should still remember that their service was and is valuable. My mom was one of the first army nurses onto the shore of Normandy, my sister served as an army doctor during the gulf war(1) and I am a proud Woman Marine (the few- est, the proud-est, the Women Marines!)
