Please, please do not misunderstand me. What happened in Connecticut is an atrocity in my mind. Could it be avoided? Who really knows?

When my friend's son was killed in a car accident, the media was knocking on her door shortly after the police did. Maggots!

X 2 what the heck kind of question is - How did you feel when you saw - heard - learned - etc of something tragic? I think I might just punch em in the nose, heaven forbid, if I were ever asked such a question. And then ask - how does that feel you moron?

People are lead to the blood by the media. This kind of thing is seems to happen with a more frequent occurrence. As to what is happening to society and our moral values, I only wish I knew and had an answer.

I do feel that all of violence on TV, the movies and video games is certainly taking the innocence of youth away way to early. We need to do a much better job of policing our youths activities and try to identify any behavioral problems for a young person and see that they get help.

We all need to say a prayer for the people at the school and their families.

There are people still suffering from Sandy up north but do you ever see the media reporting on them? Nope, no mass suffering so no news

Yes the media has done extensive reporting on the suffering people of hurricane Sandy.

This disdain for and blaming of the media is misguided and an example of blaming someone else for your own problem.

Deep down we all know what has changed and therefore what needs to be changed. To many heads buried in the sand. Seems as though more innocent people need to die first. Very sad.

Agree. However, might be a good idea for everyone to pray this never happens again and that man will quit killing man for no apparent reason.

I'm glad so many of you have had the time to post and express your feelings. I've read them all but after seeing my wife see the postings of the indviduals that were killed, reading the names and their ages she just totally broke down in tears. It's taken me a little time to gain my composure as well this morning after returning from a little shopping trip and listening to the lyrics of a Christmas song for little ones which really hit home. The tears welled up to the point that I had to pull over to the side of the road and settle down. This is a real time of grief and our hearts and prayers go out to each and every family involved. Thanks everyone for expressing their thoughts.

Perhaps if everyone that feels these things are over covered, they would get the message. They cancel shows with low ratings. Just a thought.

You are absolutely correct. The U.S. has been deteriorating for decades and is now accelerating. My only advice is NOT to be caught in a urban area when the country falls. AND keep your gas tank full. As RVrs we have a special advantage that most do not have.

Historically, 200+ years longevity is not too bad for a form of government.

Would you care to offer your opinion as to what needs changing? If it's a no-no for posting pm me.

I am so glad the wife and I decided to stay home this year until after the Holidays. It's been 4 years since we spent Christmas with the Kids and Grand Children. I'm going to be thankful to be able to hug them closely and I'm sure a little harder then before.

Now I read 50 shots ring out in California shopping mall. Suspect who was apprehended shoots into parking lot pazement and into the air. Luckily nobody was hurt here in this incident but what gives???? Was there any purpose to scare the bejesus out of all the shoppers that had to take cover? My gosh I'm at a loss.

Glad no one was hurt in Calif. Also, glad they have this one alive. Can't wait for his reasoning as to why he felt the need to do what he did.
