"MuckSavage"...Well, my last name's McGarvey, so I was called "Mick" alot, As a kid, I was always dirty, so people started calling me "Muck". When I hit my teens, I went to work for a Land Surveyor. I volunteered for all of the dirty jobs, wading thru swamps, sliding down hills, etc. There was an old Irish guy who I worked with. Well, one Saturday, my co-workers came to my house (my parents house) for a little Bar-B-Q, complete with plenty of adult refreshements. Well, one of the guys asks my parents "Hey, did he hit his head or something when he was a kid? He dives into stickers, trudges thru swamps, etc etc" My Mom & Dad chuckled. All of a sudden, this drunken Irish guy rips out "Aargh, he's a mother (bleepin') Muck Savage"

The name's been with me ever since

We usually camp with a group of people with varied types of RV from tent trailers, smaller 5th wheels and even some tent campers. Because our rig is the biggest were we dubbed "The Mothership" by our friends.

I have been a bush pilot in BC for 40 years. flying DeHavilland "Beaver" seaplanes for the last 22 years. My passengers began calling me "Beaverbob" about 10 years ago and it just stuck.

I just use my name and tend to associate with others that do the same.

I detest the ol "rubber duck" games.

Updating my post since first posted in 2001.

In 2002 my wife and I bought a Newmar Kountry Star 30RKCL. I had my screen name changed to the current name of K-Star (for Kountry Star). Although we since purchased a 2005 5er it is still a Newmar Kountry Star so no name change.

Its my name. Previously, and in the photo area I use johno02, which is my old mainframe computer days was a "unique combination consisting of 8 or less alphanumeric characters". Many companies had their own scheme for these IDs. Mine was "first 3 characters of last name, first two characters of first name, plus a unique sequential number". thus johno02

CARVAL Motorsports is the name of our racing enterprise. As you can see from the signature below, I run a highly modified 944 Porsche with the NASA organization. We race throughout the Midwest. I have had the pleasure to run at such fine facilties as Watkins Glen, Mid Ohio, Road America, Daytona VIR and a number of lesser known facilities. Obviously, CARVAL is derived from Carl and Valarie. The avatar is a picture of the fantastic Bob Hossock clay sculpture my wife gave to me as a wedding present of the car, it celebrates a regional championship I won in 2004. I used CARVAL Motorsports as my member name on a number of racing related forums, for me it is easy to remember.

Wow, just read all 15 pages. Very, very interesting thread about the background of the member's user names. Some were pretty imaginative and resourceful. Unfortunately, I'm not one of those. Maybe some days when I'm in the mood. Hope more members will pitch in and keep this going.

Nothing exciting here either, ruppr=(Robert Rupp) was old construction nickname, DW became ruppr2(Kris) by default.
