Hello all:

There was a great thread here from 12/00 to 3/01 where IRV2 members gave the story behind their screen name. It made for some fun reading about our internet friends.

Since that thread ended in March, I'm sure there's been a lot of new members with their own stories to share. Let's see them here...

As far as my name, I just changed it tonight from RoughItInStyle to Stripes17.

In addition to the FT job, I have been a local ice and inline hockey referee for the last five years. Hence the 'Stripes' part.

And it's no secret I'm a big NASCAR fan. #17 is a tribute to the team that my favorite driver owned and ran in the 1990's - Good Ol' DW.

Just thought I'd personalize my name with these hobbies.

Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it! I look forward to reading more stories from the rest of you all!

You've have to ask my momma and papa about my "screen name", they picked it; not me. <GG>

I am a Amateur Radio (Ham) with the call sign of W5IT. So it is easy to use as a screen name as well as there being only one anywhere in the world. And it is also on the lic. plate on my turck. Real easy to remember when the ask ya your lic. number during check in at campgrounds.

DriVer was born from brilliant debate and election by the members of this board.

"Dri" is for keeping the motorhome out of major floods and drainage ditches. "V" is for the massive 8.1L GM Vortec Engine. "er" is for that special reply when the Navigator just told you that you just went by the turn in the road.

There you have it!

By the way when we're runnin' the MH down the road, and listening to the CB, I tend to be a tad busy responding to all the truckers!

Our last name is Hart. The "2" business is sort of a take off from the old TV show of that name. Plus there is 2 of us.

Interesting thread. On another well known forum, I just use my full name - very unimaginative!

I am a retired Heavy Equipment Operator, spent almost 40 years on Cats and Scrapers, Backhoes, what not. But ALWAYS moving dirt, building highways, freeways, airports, etc. After many years of learning the craft, you become known as a "dirtman", a title to take pride in. In about ten minutes, you can teach just about anybody how to dig a hole, of fill one up, but it takes YEARS to learn WHERE, and WHEN.

Well, I originally signed onto this board with my real name 'Lewis Mann.' - Not very creative. Then at a Florida Boomer rally after I showed up with my new Nikon CoolPix digital camera, Lou Mitchell (RMM) started calling me 'Digital Boy.' So, that's the story.

I wanted to use Archie, which is a name I often go by, but this is taken in some sites.

So I stuck to something unique, that I could remember at all sites, after all, it's my email address on home.com.

Thanks, Larry

Still a Wannabee, but gettin' closer!!
Wanna have GMC 8.1/Allison
Wanna have Montana 3255RL

Thanks, Larry
