Any job where you have to fire people, lay off or let go... Whatever you call it, it is not fun.

As a kid, my grandfather told me you never want to be a trash truck driver, it's the worst job ever. Then, as an adult, I find out that in Los Angeles City, a union trash truck driver is a highly coveted job, they can earn upwards of $95,000+/year including a full pension at retirement. And they don't even touch the trash anymore, it's a robotic arm.

In High School, I learned to be a machinist during the summer. And the worst job ever that I noticed while working at machine shops was assigned to the uneducated guy "off the street", but willing to work. He would clean out the coolant sumps of all the machines, sweep the floors, paint, and perform general maintenance for about double minimum wage at the time. As an adult I come to find out that a facilities manager earns upwards of $120,000/year in this neck of the woods. And they almost all started as that guy cleaning the sumps. Not to bad.

As an adult, when I got out of college I became an engineer. Some of my fraternity brothers became businessmen, doctors and lawyers. After graduation I no longer focused on the worst jobs, but the best. I was a little envious that my businessmen, (stock brokers), lawyer and medical friends were making VERY serious bank not too long after getting their licenses. However, after the bailout scandal and the long recession, two business grad friends have committed suicide. Two of the medical doctors and one lawyer have already "burned out" before the age of 50 and are in other non-related professions.

So, perhaps their jobs were the worst, if they killed themselves, and "burned out", because of it?!

I have a new MH. and have been in communication with the service rep. On a regular basis lately. I got to thinking, these guys must have pretty thick skin to be able to work in a job such as they have. I worked in a job for 36 years, and never really liked it. I did my job well, was promoted many times, and made very good money. I just never liked the job. I was on call 24 hrs. a day. At that time we worked a 4 day week, but their were times we were gone all 4 days. In those 4 days we could accumulate 96 hrs on the time clock. I think having a job that you really love doing is the most important thing. You may not make as much money as other people do, but you will be much happier and content in life.

Well my IT job allows me to work from my RV, at any place I get good mobile connectivity. Last summer I was able to get up early, fish before work, fish on my lunch break, start dinner and fish, and after dinner fish.
Also had an awesome view including a nice fire during the day when I wanted.
Plus it pays well to boot.
