Flamingo Road ... Mark Harmon's early days of acting, long before NCIS. Then there was Morgan Fairchild ... sigh ... she would never answer any of my marriage proposals.

We best not let the younger generation see this thread. They may get the idea that all we did was watch TV. We can proudly brag about our generation being the inventors of the hula hoop, frisbee, and fuzzy dice. A few great songs were hatched in our time too.

Then Came Bronson. When I was 16 I wanted to be him... Harley w/bed roll, traveling from place to place. Now I am him....I traded the bed roll for a Sleep # bed in a 30 MH but the Harley is still on the back....

Somewhere around here I have an autographed picture of Michael Parks with his leather jacket thrown over his shoulder. No bike in the shot.

He sang the songs featured on the show and I may still have the album too. It was a short run series but it had all the elements of the time and life on the road. He was more of a pacifist than Billy Jack and saving someone from something and moving on.

My aunt was in theatre in college and was friends with him. At the time, she still lived with my grandparents in Hawthorne Ca. One afternoon my grandfather came home to find him asleep in the front yard. My grandfather told him to go to the backyard. After that it wasn't uncommon to find him asleep in the back yard. Hard to believe he is the same guy that ended up in Mexico and elsewhere in Kill Bill.

Like the Bronson theme song - we're always ready to be "Going Down that Long Lonesome Highway".

Steve

Been waiting decades for Route 66. It's currently running on Retro TV, syndicated series.
