20 years in Marine Corps (intelligence - and no it is not an oxymoron). 23 years as Operations Director in a Fortune 100 company providing professional services support to Marine Corps and Army activities throughout the world. Currently have about 380 employees deployed in over 40 countries worldwide.

Looking forward to total retirement in about 2 years.

Bob

Retired after spending the last 25 years of clock punching, working life, as a Power Production Electrician, Controls Person, Project Manager, & Field Engineer, I now do a bit of "Consulting" from time to time (since SS only allows me to make so much with-out trying to cut benefits).

Landscape Maintenance Branch Manager

I am a Branch Manager for a Major Landscape Maintenance company and perform services to municipal contracts, and wish I was retired, but the way the economy is going I will not be able to retire for many years even though I turn retirement age this year.

Same here (I'm also a bus driver)!
Tokyo, mostly. According to the flight attendants, ours are also special needs, particularly in First Class

DW at 52 (2 yrs younger than me) is a former school principal who's now an atty, owns two rural title companies; we're both trying to practice up for retirement while we're still working.

Dismal state of airline industry will force me to go to 65 yrs, but I'll try to maintain a light schedule that allows time for RV'ing!

Earned the small pension and built the 401k working a bit over 30 years for the auto claim department at State Farm Insurance. The first twenty I worked claims, the last 10 I was in kind of a systems support / auditing / training roll. Retired last June. Peggy will retire June 2012 after a bit more than 33 years working behind the scenes for the life insurance arm of American Family Insurance.

Yep, our 'habit' is fully financed through your generous donations to your insurance company, and we appreciate it!

45 years as a Union Carpenter. 35 of those were spent as a superintendent on commercial construction. I've been superintendent on everything from a Checkers burger joint , to the Ritz Carlton in Philadelphia and Ceasar's Casino Atlantic City which was my largest job $125million. and lots in between. Loved getting up for work every morning, always a new challenge. Have an old school marriage, Peggy stayed home and raised our 4 children and when the grand kids came along she was their childcare center. All 7 of them. I think I got the easy end of the bargain, but then again so does she. Now been retired for 5 years, Zeus was my retirement present to my self, now he's a Mama's boy. Ain't life grand! signing off now from Key West.

We are both UXO techs - environmental remediation specializing in the removal of unexploded ordnance and/or parts/pieces of ordnance, typically on current/former military land. We got our rig to live in while we're on the road working. Both prior service Army (Army Reserve for both which is how we met, then DH went active Army EOD). Before doing UXO, I was an admin clerk. Before going active Army, DH worked in finance.
