I was too young to drive but my parents had a chevy 2 stationwagon. My hubby was driving a driver's ed car. His first rig was a '59 cj5.

I switched cars a lot at that time. So, it was either a 53 4 door Chev, a 55 Chev wagon, or the 60 Borgward.

1957 Chevrolet Belair convertible with a 301 cubic inch V8, four speed tranny, 67 Impala bucket seats, black top, Chrysler Surf Turquoise green with an extra cup of metallic. I took another set of leaf springs, cut off the shackle eyes on that set, threw away all the little short leaft from both sets, and then went dragracing on a few weekends.
Other car--same year--1932 Ford Model B two door sedan, '51 Caddy engine, Weind dragstar manifold with 6 Stromberg carbs, beefed up hydro tranny, 56 Pontiac rearend, 6" dropped front axle with '49 Ford backing plates & brakes. Got rid of the transverse springs, boxed the frame and used doubled up '54 chevy leaf springs. Didn't need a P.S.I traction kit.
