This is why they invented and sell propane campfire pits.
Some of the Canadian national park campgrounds have "no campfire" sections. Air was nice and clear. Haven't seen this in the US yet, though I'm sure they're out there. It's nice for those of us with medical issues with smoke.

Smoking - Long ago many of the movies had the very cool or the tough guys smoking, not to mention the TV ads that were very convincing. I smoked for 30 years and finally quit 15-20 years ago. Still have a second now and then that I think about lighting up, but it is only for a second.

We are so easily influenced by what we see on TV and movies. My pet peeve is that we have so little good clean entertainment on TV today.

Just kidding Dan. I couldn't resist.

....
Love it
I did try for one name, but did not want to irritate those who hate it when someone lumps everyone into a single group

LIVING!! It can be very detrimental to your health. The longer you do it the more hazardous it becomes.

Of course, I don't recommend giving it up

Okay as a smoker with a 'real' pet peeve, coupons at grocery stores!!! I mean the ones that are 10 off if you spend 50, or 20 if you spend 100... So my peeve is this, the cashier hands them to the customer, who looks at it then tosses it in the trash as they walk by. Come on people have a 'random act of kindness moment', look around and find a person with an order big enough to instantly use the coupon. Being empty nesters we rarely can use the discounts, I always give mine away. The reaction form the receivers can be memorable... A few times people just can understand someone trying to be nice. We need to do more random acts of kindness to unsuspecting people. that's my peeve and I'm keeping it...

There are 10 kinds of people in the world; those that understand binary numbers and those that don't.
