As a society our standards are in the proverbial toilet. Too many times I'll read a post and have to figure out the meaning the author intended because he/she didn't care to spell check or use proper grammar. In addition, how a person writes is a reflection on who they are...you are what you write.

How does that saying go ?

I know you understand , what you think I said , but you must understand that what you heard , is not what I meant .

EDIT: I see changes in your post since I started typing.

"I have seen" is correct English!

Languages are fluid and constantly evolving. Being bothered by it is just proof that its been a very long time since you were in school being taught the then-current rules.

You can go back hundreds of years and find writings complaining about the same thing. I'm just waiting for it to be acceptable to end sentences in a preposition.

My favorite one is tossing in a "you know" every seventh or eighth word.

Thiers a perfectly gowd splanation for the Um's and you knows...

it gives us simple minded people time to grasp what is said between the um's and ya knows

My Dad told me too many of those and it tells him I may be making it up as I go along 'explaining' why I should not be in trouble
