When do you camp?
Before and even now we only camped from June thru early September. Other than those whom are full time RVers How and when do you go? Are there things you take during one part of the year than in the other (besides clothes) was just think of maybe adding some camping during the rest of the year as I get a 3day weekend twice a month. What is your favorite time and why.
I like early September...I like to sit in the early hours and drink coffee and enjoy the quiet.

Fall in Pennsylvania and Virginia, then Spring in South Carolina coastal areas are my favorite.
Winter is next - no bugs and no crowds. I don't go very often in July and August because it's too hot for me.

We never camped in the summer because it is so crowded. We like early spring, fall and winter. Spent a week in 3 feet of snow once, best camping we ever did!

What a great question. You didn't say where you reside. Knowing that would help in answering your question. We are full timers but we camped a lot before we went full time.
We lived in Texas so our winters were not as brutal as many folks who live in the north. We were members of a couple of groups that had activities involving camping out. One was the Lonestar Dutch Oven Cooking Society and another was The Woodlands Hiking Club. Each month they each had an event. We usually camped near where the hike or cook out was located. My suggestion is that you check and see if there are any organizations that might appeal to you.
Visiting with friends who share a common passion is always wonderful. The campfire sessions in the evening were always one of the highlights of the weekends.

I
I full time for the warm months (April through October). Guess that makes me a 1/2 timer. November through March I'm in south Florida or some place in Florida. Winter is camping with the Klub chapters I belong to.

How funny... see I grew up that camping season was from Halloween to Easter because we are offroaders and the deserts get mighty hot in the summer time! We do have one trip in August though, it used to be a non buggy trip but now we've found a place where the temp is nice & we can offroad.
Only thing that changes are the locations. We always pack clothes for hot & cold temps as it changes so much once the sun goes down.

Weekends, year round here in SoCal. Avoiding the desert in the summer and avoiding the mountains during the winter. And avoiding holiday weekends year round.

I live in the midwest, The Michigan state parks are usually not crowded in late fall, perfect weather to camp, its our favorite time of year, we will go until the snow flies and stays for a while, not much insulation in MH and get tired of filling propane. so in short from early spring until snow fall

I go year round, being here in Tennessee.... As long as there's no snow, ice or salt (EEK!!!) on the ground and I can get her up onto the road, I go.

Love the beach at Emma Wood just above Ventura. Makes the RV like a condo right on the beach. Coffee in the morning and wine in the evening. Tough but someone needs to do it!

I loved the answers I got.
Chaunclm, to answer your question I live in Arkansas about 25-30 minutes from Little Rock but was born and grew up in Texas and a short stint when very young in Michigan. I visit there often (Plano, My daughter and her family, & Gainesville, My Mom and some other family members around there). I'll look into that cause my husband doesn't camp with me often.
