When is Too Old to start full timing

I'm 72 & my wife is 70. We're both in better good physical shape. I would like any thoughts on when you think it's too old to start a Full-Time RV lifestyle.

Yea I know it sounds like a cop-out, but it's true. Age really isn't a factor. Health certainly is. If you have to make regular hospital visits for weeks at a time, you're not the right person to go full time. If you're not physically able to change your own oil, or do other small maintenance items if the need arises, you're probably not the right person to go full time. (By that I mean, physically able to do it. If you just choose not to and opt to pay someone a few bucks to do it for you, that's different.) If your mental faculties are less than adequate, like if you're going to forget to turn off the propane stove when you're finished cooking, you shouldn't go full time. Also, if you're on an extremely limited budget and couldn't afford to replace a tire, or window, or damaged water line, etc., you shouldn't go full time. Something is going to break sooner or later.



Age, on the other hand doesn't matter at all. I see no reason why a 70 year old couple who is in good physical shape, in good health, and has the desire to see the country is somehow "too old" to start full timing. Heck, I bet the next person to post is going to be 70+ and full timing. There's quite a few of them active on this forum.

If you think you are too old then you probably are. It is really never too late.
I turn 70 in a couple of months and see no real end in sight to the end of our RV adventures (wife is 64)

I'm 80 and the wife is 72! Don't have any plans to quit anytime soon! Sure, we're not able to do some things that we used to do, hiking, etc.., but we're still at our happiest moments when traveling in the MH!

I think the decision should be based on physical and mental condition, not age.

I'll be 73 in January. Now doing longer trips but working on getting rid of stuff to go full time in a couple years.

If it works for you then ..........

As long as I can keep it running - I'll keep doing it - No Need to just be full time only - you can jump between the two as many of us do - I'm on the higher side - in age that either of you - and I see at least 6-8 more good years - - -

I'm trying to sell my last Anchor (Code - Sticks and Bricks) so we can go for a year or two and commute between the Grands. -

Even then we will likely have some sort of "Home", other than just the Motor Home.

Age is just a number. We have met people in their 50's that can't RV and other's in their 70's doing great at RV'ing. Listen to your mind and body, if they are willing go, then go for it. You only live once!

What are you waiting for retirement? My father in law refused to join the local senior center because they were for old people. At age 90, he finally joined and at 97, he loves the center and all the young people there.

The worst thing would be to look back and have to say, "i should have done it while we still could!" Do it now and don't look back.
