Don't see why not when it's rated for 28k lbs, and that its one solid monolithic metal structure when welded together to act as one piece unlike a 5th wheel. Any sheer force can be taken care of with a gusset plate on it.

Sweet. You've got me thinking about building one. The gooseneck hitch will give more flexibility with less strain.

Best thing to do is invest in plasma cutter first, there is a 5 inch channel iron going across every 12 inches on the center in the floor and cutting torch won't take that out unless you want to take the floor up first. That's for starters on shaving weight, next will be taking the back two doors off and replacing it with something lighter. Getting the axles on right is next challenge as I would rather had mine recessed in instead of the height it is in my pictures.
