Where to buy used RV

Hey All,

My wife and I are hoping to get a used RV to go on vacations with our kids. We are in Washington and may even go to the Tacoma RV show tomorrow. Friend at work said she got her used RV at Cruise America and couldn't be happier. Does anyone have experience buying from cruise antics? Any other good places to check out?

Enter used Motorhomes into a search engine and include your state in and it will bring up lots of info for you.

Cruise America seems to have a lot of happy buyers.
Friend just got one on the car lot, and he is impressed with its condition.
Might want to do a search on the forum for "Cruise America"

I just can't pay dealer prices... Shop around, do your research, find a nice private sale, have enough money saved to enjoy the adventure... Just saw the same unit type we purchased for $48,000 from owner listed at dealer for $72,500 and other for $69,900,

I would check the classifieds here on IRV2, and RVTrader.com

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

A good place to see different RV types, manufacturers, models is Ebay. Once you decide on the type & floor plan you can narrow down the brand/model.

I spent a lot of time looking at RV on Ebay before we bought our last one. In 2008 I found a used 2002 Monaco Windsor that we looked at while we were in Florida. This was a repo unit, however, when we looked at it we found it to be in really good condition and appeared to be well taken care of. We closed the deal the next week and have had it ever since. We got such a good deal on it I can still find one like ours listed for more money, +6 years later.

Good Luck

I would look at PPL Motor homes. I would use their on line listing to review floor plans and the asking prices of different RVs. They are a large consignment dealer in Houston, Tx.
I would then look at RVs in an areas that has large populations of senior owners. Many of those sell due to the owners age or death of a spouse. For example AZ,Florida or South Texas.

Never pay asking price. Dealer mark up is 30% and offer 20% under asking price on private sale. Many if not most private sales, the owner is upside down if they financed and are asking what they owe. Hard to get a good price in that circumstance. Don't buy anything used without a Professional inspection done by an independent motorhome inspection service. AND don't "think" that because it is a newer model and has low miles...it will be trouble free. Please get it inspected!!!!

Be careful with Craigslist lost of scams. Maybe no more than places but it just seems like it.
