I would throw in Watkins Glen State Park. Great place to visit. I have always enjoyed the Finger Lakes region.

If in Watkins consider Corning Museum of Glass 20 mi S.
Glenn Curtis Museum in Hammondsport also worthwhile.

I second Assateague Island National or State parks. Great beaches. Lots of stuff to do in the area in Ocean City, MD. Willaimsburg a few hours away. Also check out Chincoteague Island, VA.
For historic stuff, maybe Annapolis, MD? DC?
