Ft Riley Kansas...the Big Red 1...an USAF Lt at a big Army base, and the in tell and infantry guys treated me like one of their own...particularly when we went to the field, and I packed our generator and a color TV (much to the Chief of Staff's serious issues).

I was trying to rebound from loosing my wife and unborn child in a car accident, caused by a drunk driver. I was left with a thirteen month old daughter. I didn't know which way to turn.

I'm so sorry for the loss. I know it is not anything you can really get over, I just hope you make great memories in the future.

I saw her grow into a fine, intelligent young lady. We did it together. Today she is called Dr. Angela McGee. Daddy is soooo proud!

The blizzard of 1997.

I had just completed a midnight shift as a Nurse in a catholic nursing home. When I got home I told my parents I had heard it was going to snow alot. Slept the day away. Got up at 4:30PM and couldn't get to work again until Sunday evening. School was canceled that day to conserve fuel oil. Packed a suit case and went to the closet hosp. where a volunteer gave me a ride to work. AT night the Priest would unlock the tunnel door that lead us underground to the priests residence. Boy did the priests have a huge boat load of beer!! (non drinker for me). We were under a state of emergency with no cars allowed on the streets. Ended up working the day shift and then took a nap and the supervisor woke me up for the midnight shift. Took a few days off to let those who needed work have a chance to earn $. The event lasted from Friday to Wed. My neighbor had been doing snow plowing for the local Hosp.that is how i found out about the rides for medical staff. The supervisor was amazed I made it to work from such a far distance. I will never forget this experience.

Living in Bothell, WA and working for Boeing. I was a simulation engineer, working in Boeing's crew training group.

We were able to convince seasoned airline pilots that they were in a real airplane when they were really in a big box on hydraulic legs that looked like one from inside! On one occasion, I flew a routine with three airline guys and deliberately flew through the Seattle First Bank sksyscraper on the visual. One of them threw up - thought he'd be killed. It was a big surprise when we came out the other side unscathed!

Of course, since I'd caused the problem, I had to clean up!

Watch Commander, Lt., on the Poplar Bluff Police Dept. Back when it was actually an enjoyable job that didn't have quite the restraints on the work that they do now. Really enjoyed those years in law enforcement. Now manage a dive (scuba) shop in the St. Louis area. Covered the camper last weekend and having withdrawals already.
