When the day comes to "retire" that is easy... only 2 choices there #1 Downstream in unknown locale under a rock and rotting like an olde log or #2 Crematory !

Have travelled and Rv'd my whole life, been there done that and am somewhere on 4th or 5th round trip thru it all... The kids and grandkids are attractions, the fishing of central and coastal Oregon definately hold a strong attraction, flyfishing SW Pennsylvania with my Dad and family are beloved activities, have sticks and bricks in west central Florida, love deer hunting inside all of Pa, elk hunting in Washington state, doing anything on the Olympic Penninsula (Mr MicroSoft chose well), southern California with those beaches... why would I forego any of it ???

So long as God makes it possible, veterans keep us free, and Uncle Sam sends the checks... you will find me out there still trying to find it all... looking and loving being FREE !

Be safe... enjoy the open roads.

Family (and grandkids ) brought us to Southeastern PA after spending five decades in Southern California.

PA has beautiful countryside, low state income tax (3.1%), retiree friendly (no income tax on pensions or SS), low vehicle registration ($36 cars, $81 MH), and friendly people. We are in gorgeous horse country and when it snows it's beautiful. Beats the masses of people, houses 10 feet apart, lots of pavement, cars and smog in sunny California!

All of the above (except outside the country, although we may try that someday, too).

We retired to our motorhome so we can go anywhere we want. Tired of the scenery? Don't like the weather? Pull up the jacks, and off we go.

Port Angeles WA. Got 5 grand kids .7 miles from me in Texas, see them every 2 or 3 months, or when they want something. They live in my other house rent free. Grand kids are over rated!! I'll take a dog any day. Sorry for the rant. Only one grand kid has called the wife to wish happy mothers day, they all have cell phones. Their father will do his usual drive by tomorrow and toss out the walmart flowers on his way to his wifes mothers to spend the day. Sorry again for the rant but I am so angree I am ready to sell it all and move as far away as I can get from them. This has been the pattern for several years now.

Gotta be a snowbird. Can't stand staying in the flat & boring sandbox (FL) for more than a few months in the Winter, but as much as I love my NY mountains and lakes, the Winters there are getting just too hard to take.

Could it be that I'm getting old?

Well I goofed and voted West South Central then after I saw the map and designated locations, I should have voted Mountain as that's where we retired and now live in NV.

We do spend a couple of summer months in the beautiful state of WA and sometimes in Jan & Feb we spend some time in the RGV around Harlingen, TX

Already did! According to my sister, who lives in England, Anacortes is where God goes on his vacations.

This year, so far, has been a disappointment. There were no days in April when the high made 60F and May isn't doing a whole lot better (three so far!). Still, it beats the southern mid-west and the east coast with the tornadoes and the Mississippi valley with the tremendous floods.

I can live with an earthquake every 30 years or so!

Tucson AZ, 9 months of the best weather on the planet then go north and high in the summer months. Great college town with great golf and outdoor sports, lowest fuel prices in Arizona and the country. If your body screams at cold and wet this is the place to be!
